Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

State Departmental Funds Management"

Manage all state funds including the start up funds for new faculty as well as all other related accounts including the discretionary and overhead accounts. Report monthly to the Chair the status of the funds.

Work with CLAS Dean's office on the expenditure of state funds.

Personnel Coordinator:

Work with the faculty when generating new postings in Ninertalent for hiring Research Technicians, Postdoctoral Fellows, Faculty, and Staff.

Generate the contracts for all graduate TA's and part time teaching employees.

Office Manager:

Supervise three Administrative Support staff members and therefore do their annual evaluations.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Four year degree in a related business function and one year of experience in accounts reconciliation, business processing, office management, or human resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

The highly preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. It is strongly preferred that a degree be in business management or accounting.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in a higher education environment and budgetary/accounting general practices.

Demonstrated ability using financial and information systems to create and update records, and using computers for data management, analysis, and display of reports.

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and records/contacts databases and the ability to create and share reports and other materials for business decision-making purposes. A strong working knowledge of University Systems (i.e. BANNER, e-procurement system, Archibus, Grants and Contract Research software , etc.) is also preferred.

The successful candidate will provide primary administrative support to the department and must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.

Applicants for position must be adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and able to manage a high level of volume that is detail oriented.
